When you join the military, you hear about all the benefits to being a service member. You learn new skills and become stronger during your time serving. When it comes time to retire and join the civilian workforce, you may find yourself confused and unsure of your next steps.
In a recent interview with KP of The Morning Formation Podcast, Dr. Nicole Dhanraj shares why she decided to join the Army and what the career transition experience was like for her.
In the interview, Nicole shares a little about her early life. She immigrated to the United States from Trinidad, at the age of 18. Nicole knew she wanted a university education, so she decided to join the military in order to get help with schooling.
She explains the difficulties when first joining the Army, but also shares why she would not have changed her experience. Nicole discusses the difficult time she had transitioning out of the military and offers active duty members advice on how to have a smooth transition.
In the interview, Nicole and KP discuss the nonprofit they are both members of, Act Now Education. Act Now Education offers thousand of free resources for the transitioning military community.
