How ROTC Can Pay for Your College Education and Elevate Your Military Career

Military Career and Education. These seem like two things that have nothing to do with one another. You may be surprised to find that there is very strong connection between these two things. Today’s guest on The Morning Formation Podcast is Dr. Michael Brantley. He explains the wonderful opportunities that are available to those who join the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps while obtaining a great college education.

KP’s guest, Dr. Michael Brantley, is a Navy veteran. He holds various degrees, one of which being a Doctorate in Education. He is currently working as an Army ROTC Recruiter for San Diego State University.

Dr. Michael Brantley grew up in Compton, California and worked at a porta potty company in South Central LA before enlisting in the Navy where he served for twenty years. He is now helping college students join the ROTC program at San Diego State University.

Brantley explains what a new cadet can expect to experience in the ROTC environment. He also explains why it’s so important for students and their parents to have all the information available to them so they can know their options when considering to join after high school. Brantley lists the many financial benefits to being a cadet in the ROTC program as well as the great mentorship that comes with the experience. He explains that not all new cadets are fresh from high school and that this is a great opportunity for those who may already have some military experience.
