Part 2 of 3: I got an opportunity to sit down with my father, Retired 1SG Samuel (Joe) Phillips, in a three part podcast series.

Retired Army 1SG Phillips was drafted from his small, hometown in Kentucky at the end of the Vietnam War in 1971, was sent through Army Basic Combat Training, Advance Individual Training (AIT) as a 11C, Airborne School, Belgian Commando School, and US Army Ranger School. In this podcast, he talks about his draft experience, military training, and life experiences.

1SG Phillips continues his storied career as a drill sergeant at Ft Knox, Kentucky in the late 70's. Talks about some fascinating stories and takes us through a different time in the military, during the post Vietnam war era.
